Malibu, Chocolate and Tropical Fruits Smoothie.

Disclaimer: I may use affiliate links in this post.

This is a really tasty summery drink. The coconut in the Malibu Rum mixes really well with the smoothie and I bet you can even claim that this is healthy because of the high fruit content. We tried this with cream and found it too sickly. It was quite nice with just a drop of lemonade added in but personally I thought it was best just as it was.

2 shots Malibu

200ml Tropical smoothie (I used innocent brand)

10 ice cubes

Small amount 85% dark chocolate, finely grated. (Optional)

  1. Place all the ingredients except chocolate in a blender.
  2. Pour into a glass.
  3. Sprinkle grated chocolate over the top, if wanted.
  4. Enjoy!

Almond Hot Chocolate With Whipped Cream.

Disclaimer: I may use affiliate links in this post.

So after a super stressful week my partner was kind enough to being me really dark chocolate and a bunch of beautiful flowers.

I’m a lucky girl.

I however wanted something even more indulgent, something that could potentially add on 5lb to my waistline with a single cup. Naturally with the minimum of effort.

This was the result:

Rich, creamy and decadent with a hint of almond goodness hidden within. I keep telling myself that I was being good because I used semi skimmed milk and super dark chocolate but honestly I’m lying. It’s just too naughty for words but what can I say?

I’m worth it!

Ingredients: (one mug)

300ml Semi skimmed milk.

45g 70% Dark chocolate.

50ml Extra thick whipping cream.

1 Heaped tsp smooth almond butter.

2tbsp Sugar.

  1. Whip the cream with 1tbsp of sugar until it forms stiff peaks. Best to use an electronic mixer for this job. Put it to one side until your drink is done.
  2. Place the milk in your mug. (Pick a large, microwave safe mug)
  3. Break 40g of the chocolate into small pieces and add to the milk.
  4. Microwave on full power for 2 minutes. Do this in 30 second intervals, stirring each time. DO NOT forget to take your spoon out of the cup each time it goes back into the microwave. Add on 30 seconds more if the milk isn’t hot enough.
  5. Stir in the almond butter and the rest of the sugar until the almond butter melts.
  6. Spoon your whipped cream on top (it’s been a really hot day so mine went flat right away) and using a cheese grater, grate the last bit of chocolate over the cream.
  7. Enjoy!

Strawberry, Watermelon, Gin and Tonic Slushy.

Disclaimer: I might use affiliate links in this post.

So my partner suggested a BBQ, I suggested a watermelon – being the sensible and responsible health conscious adult that I am. Somehow Gin got involved, sneaky swine that it is. Lo and behold this was the result.

All the healthiness and sweetness of fruit followed with all the falling overs of Gin. You’re welcome. Now come and be a health conscious adult with me. It’s got to be good for you, it’s at least 50% fruit!

1 watermelon Peeled and chopped

300g Strawberries (Leaves removed)

300ml Gin

750ml Diet Tonic

1 lemon, (juiced)

  1. Put the watermelon and strawberries in a bender and blend until smooth.
  2. Add in the lemon juice and half of the Gin and half of the tonic. Stir throughly.
  3. Place in a freezer safe dish and cover with cling film then freeze over night. The Gin should prevent it from freezing solid.
  4. Put Back in blender, add in the rest of the Gin and tonic and blend until it looks like a slushy or your desired consistency is achieved.
  5. Taste and add more Gin or Tonic if needed.
  6. Freeze For at least two hours more.
  7. Decant into glasses and enjoy.
  8. Try not to fall over!
